This year's edition of GDC also allowed us to host one of our Substance Days, where we presented the latest developments in the Substance 3D ecosystem. This also gave us the opportunity to host some phenomenal guest speakers discussing how the Substance toolset helps them to bring some of the most outstanding games of the year to life.
The Game Developers Conference
March 2024 brought another edition of the Game Developers Conference, the premier event of the gaming industry. The Adobe Substance 3D team were present, and were delighted to be able to meet so many of our 3D community in person.
This motion was created in collaboration with the Substance 3D Assets team (Maximilien Vert, Ludovic Petiot and Anais Lamelliere) to showcase the flexibility of the Substance 3D materials in motion. We worked around 6 biomes inspired by VFX and video games. The challenge here was to bring the materials to life, and demonstrate their endless potential.​​​​​​​
Below, just a small selection of the talks, demos, portfolio reviews, discussions between users and developers, and the sharing of experiences that are so fundamental to creating the absolute best tools we can for the 3D community.
